2nd line support £22k - £28k + bonus +good benefits Our software house client require 2nd line telephone and email tech support for their products on a 24*7 basis. The successful candidate will have 2 years of technical support experience and good technical knowledge, with a clear, concise and friendly telephone manner. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required. You will have the ability to prepare written material that is understandable, pertinent and well structured, and have strong personal organisational skills. Multitasking and prioritisation skills are key, as is flexibility and resilience. You will have experience of providing positive customer service, communicating appropriately with customers at all levels. You will take the initiative to get problems solved, and support multiple products simultaneously. Required: experience with a wide range of computer operating systems and software with emphasis on installation, troubleshooting, upgrading, integration and client*server operations is essential; Windows and one of the following is preferred: Unix*Linux, Novell, MacOS, DOS, OpenVMS, Lotus Notes, Exchange, SMTP. Industry or professional organisation certification in computing fields are not required but highly desirable. Good career progression is available. Duties will include product testing and maintenance, possible attendance at trade shows and technical seminars; providing technical back-up for sales staff as required; qualify cases before escalating to 3rd level; record and document all issues; offer support, guidance and trainer to new starters; maintain product FAQ`s.
